Courage to trust your intuition

Courage or fear?

Today Sally and I talk about the value of trusting yourself when facing a situation which is outside your comfort zone. It deals with the idea that there is no point in worrying about what has yet to occur. There is no point in worrying future event over which you have little or no control. Before you can trust when facing the prospect of a challenging or stressful situation, you must pause. Take a deep breath and now you have the choice to embrace the courage to let go and trust or sink once again into the fear-worry mode. What choice will you make?

Think & act at the same time

In my 30’s, I realised that I was a real worrier. Looking through my childhood pictures, it was difficult to find one of me smiling. A frown seemed to have been my habitual feature. If there was an uncertain prospect on my horizon, I slid easily into a familiar pattern of worry. One day a friend said, “why don’t you stop thinking about what might be and instead think and act at the same time.”

What I took from these kind words was the opportunity to stop thinking about future “might-be’s”  and stop worrying about what might happen. So I started training myself to focus on what I could action NOW, in live more the moment. This was a powerful lesson to trust in my future and brought me an immense feeling of relief and flow. What

What is Courage?

My definition of courage to do what matches my talents and what accords with my nature. Courage allows me to listen to the whispers of my intuition and to trust them over the din of my thoughts, over the thoughts and opinions of others. I can delegate, outsource those tasks which disrupt my feeling of flow. And in the longer term, I have the choice to eliminate them from my life.

My top tips to help you follow your intuition

  • Pause
  • Get quiet – turn off the din of your head and heart
  • Listen to your inner voice
